Reflecting on 2023 and Accelerating into 2024
As the first few days of January roll in, we at Overdrive Motors extend a hearty Happy New Year to everyone in our circle – from the steadfast fans to the newest members of our Overdrive family. Before we delve into the nitty-gritty, exciting prospects of 2024, let’s rewind and share some of the hallmark moments of 2023, especially for those new to our journey and keen to catch up!
Opening Doors: A New Beginning in March 2023
March 2023 was a landmark moment as we opened our garage in Sussex. Armed with Craig’s wealth of experience spanning a couple of decades, we embarked on this adventure, catering to a wonderful array of clients and their intriguing cars. The truth about new ventures? They demand grit – long days, early starts, juggling other life pressures – but each day has been a chapter we've loved writing. Luckily we love working together!
Once the wheels were in motion, 2023 transformed into a whirlwind year. We'd love to recount every single detail, but rather than having you spend all your time reading this blog instead of exploring our sales showroom page, we’ve decided to distill the essence of our year into three key moments for each of us.

Kate’s Top Three
Polishing Perfection: For me, Kate, the highlight was mastering the art of polishing vehicles. Turning cars from lacklustre to luminous and witnessing their journey to new owners brought unparalleled satisfaction.

Sunset in the New Forest: The memory of delivering a van to the New Forest stands out. It was an ordinary van, but our stop to savour a sunset after a hectic day was anything but ordinary. It was a moment of reflection and anticipation, a glimpse into the promising path our business could forge nationwide, and perhaps even globally!

Dolly's Homecoming: The acquisition of our first Series, affectionately named Dolly, tops my list. Dolly’s story and her upcoming sympathetic restoration are tales for another time, but stay tuned!

Inception and Innovation: Craig’s third-place moment was the exhilarating journey of establishing Overdrive and opening the garage – a venture supported by a band of loyal clients and family.
The Daimler Departure: Selling the Daimler, a car we both adored, was both thrilling and melancholic. Its swift sale was a triumph, yet its departure left a hint of sadness.

The Joy of Journeys: The top spot, however, goes to the countless road trips across the UK. From Somerset to Surrey, each trip was an adventure, strengthening our bond and expanding our horizons.

From the formidable Daimler to the robust Defender Wolf, the sleek BMW 840ci, a variety of vans, and classic cars, 2023 has been an exhilarating ride. And now, our sights are set on 2024.

What’s on the horizon for 2024? We’re already bustling with retail work and exciting projects.

Welcoming a New Mechanic: We're thrilled to be expanding our team, bringing another skilled mechanic into the Overdrive family.
Restoring Classics: Our Series collection is getting some TLC. Dolly will undergo a sympathetic restoration, while The Major is set for a full makeover in a vibrant new hue. These transformations shouldn’t be missed, keep an eye out on here and on our TikTok in the next few months.
Exciting Ventures Ahead: With fantastic collaborations lined up, expect to see more exceptional vehicles for sale and retail.
Garage Transformation: We’re eagerly anticipating the installation of a new ramp and organising some time to transform an area into an office – a perfect place for car chats and coffee.
Showroom Expansion: Our outdoor parking area, currently a hub for vehicles in various repair stages, will evolve into a dedicated space for our commercial sales vehicles.
Extending Retail Reach: With an additional mechanic joining our team, we're excited to expand our retail customer base, especially for classic car enthusiasts seeking expert care for their prized possessions.
